Ø New (in March) monthly Ladies Bible Class every second Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Alisa Leonard is teaching the Psalms.

Ø The local nursing home service on the 4th Sunday of each month at 3:00 p.m.

Ø “We Care” outreach meeting monthly on the 4th Sunday afternoon at 3:45. We’ve done this twice and the attendance has been good. We are making lists of people who need visits, etc. The fruit is coming slowly, but it is coming nonetheless.

Ø Other members are helping several areas, such as mailing the bulletin as an outreach tool, etc.

v January 22: Our sister Mehgan Hall responded to the invitation, asking for prayers to be a better mom. She is a single mom in her 20’s and recently went through a divorce. Meghan works hard at encouraging family members to be faithful.

v March 4: Brother Quaneskia Smith responded to the Lord’s invitation this Lord’s Day morning, asking for prayers to be a stronger husband and father.

v March 21: I had a study (not the first) with Betty June van Horne and baptized her into Christ that morning. Her sister, Joyce Fulghum, was a member of the Adel congregation and also quite ill. Betty June had moved to Adel from Jacksonville, FL in November, 2011 to take care of her. Joyce passed away on Jan. 7, but Betty June stayed in Adel and attended the services of the Lord’s church. She is doing very well and we are trying to stay close to her.

v April 1: Our sister Tina Pharr was restored during the p.m. service.  Tina is Meghan Hall’s Mother.

v April 7: We lost another member, brother Paul Bentley. He lived in the local nursing home. Even though in a wheel chair, Paul was in every service of the church, when his health allowed. He was age 70 and died with pneumonia, kidney failure and cardiac arrest.

v April 8: We had our *largest Sunday crowd since I have been there: 64 Two of these were Alisa’s mom and dad, and the others were from the area, so we were very pleased. Fliers were printed and distributed and some door knocking was done. We ran one ad in the local paper. The church worked hard on invitations and several attended who rarely do.

*There were 86 on March 11. But 39 of were from the Forrest Park church of Christ for Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes presentations, so this figure is not equal to area visitors.

· My sermons have been designed to be appropriate for the needs of the Adel church

· Sunday mornings:

o I am teaching the book of Acts to the adults.

o Brother Justin Hiers (a first time teacher!) is studying Joshua with the teens.

· Wednesday nights: Brother Adam Smith is teaching adults and teens “Bible Foundations” (study of fundamental Christian doctrine).

· Kathy Jones, Tina Smith and Jessica Hiers are teaching the children on Sundays and Wednesdays.

· Alisa Leonard is keeping the nursery during Sunday morning worship.

Imminent Plans:

Gospel Meeting

May 20-23:  Brother Charles Cochran, minister for the East Ridge church of Christ (near Chattanooga, TN) and I will preach a gospel meeting. A group is coming from East Ridge on Friday and Saturday, May 18-19, to help us knock doors before the meeting. The theme will be: The Great Commission and Conversions in the book of Acts.”

Please pray for this meeting!

We will have a Vacation Bible School in the summer but the dates have not been set.

Thanks be to God for all His providence ant for your support in any way!
