The purpose of this web site is for sharing spiritual information through biblical articles, sermon outlines and other web links based upon the Bible, God's living Word. (Heb. 4:12)
The site name, as indicated, comes from Psalm 18:30: "As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him." There are three essential factors in this text that enable us as humankind to have a right relationship with our Creator:
1) We need God, and the God of the Bible is that perfect Being. His way (everything about Him) is perfect, and this establishes His ability to provide perfect things for all our needs, both physically and spiritually. (See James 1:17.)
2) We also need a tried and tested guide from our Creator in order to live justly before Him. Seeing God's way as perfect, we come to learn His way through revealed information. The Bible meets that requirement perfectly. It has been tried or tested or proven (Psalm 12:6) by man since the dawn of time, and all efforts to destroy it have utterly failed. It is the complete and final revelation for all of man's needs (2 Tim. 3:15-16; Jude 3). It must be studied, meditated on and lived by in order to achieve the maximum benefits offered by its sacred teaching and promises. (See Psalm 119:105.)
3) God is a shield, a protector, for those who fully trust in Him. (Psalm 84:11; Matt. 6:33) Faithful Christians need this assurance, as did David, the author of this psalm, "...on the Day that the LORD Delivered Him from the Hand of All His Enemies and from the Hand of Saul." (Superscription of Psalm 18. Compare 2 Sam. 22:31 for historic background and context.)
Hence, this site has God, His Word and His Providence as its foundation.
Another purpose of this site is to keep friends and family and fellow Christians informed about the Leonard family, Roger's work in Latin America, and all our service in the Lord.
